Christof Kindlinger - A Celebration of Colour and Form

Christof Kindlinger - A Celebration of Colour and Form

We are thrilled to introduce the works of Christof Kindlinger at the Folly&Muse art gallery. Kindlinger’s art invites viewers into a vibrant world where color, movement, and gesture come alive with remarkable intensity. As an artist deeply inspired by the interplay of form and emotion, he transforms everyday impressions into extraordinary visual experiences.

Born in Munich in 1965, he has made a name for himself by capturing contours and translating them into gestural structures and movements. His art brims with vitality, bold gestures, and vibrant colours, creating a dynamic interplay between structure and expression.

His artistic journey began at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where he studied under Professor Horst Sauerbruch from 1987 to 1994. A pivotal moment in his career came in 1994 with a scholarship and residency in Sulmona, Italy. Immersed in the Italian landscape, he was profoundly influenced by the interplay of light, colour, and form, leaving a lasting mark on his creative vision.

In addition to his career as an artist, Kindlinger has been an art educator since 1996 at the St.-Anna-Gymnasium in Munich. This dual role allows him to inspire and mentor the next generation of artists while remaining deeply engaged in his own creative process.

For many years, his creative base was his studio in Munich’s Alte Wiede Fabrik, established in 1997. In 2023, he began a new chapter with the construction and relocation of his studio to Aubing.

His artistic style is defined by powerful gestures and a bold, dynamic use of colour. Everyday inspirations, a flower in bloom, a play of light, or a shadow are reimagined through his unique lens, pulsating with energy and movement.

Through his work, Kindlinger invites viewers to engage with the interplay of form, movement, and color, encouraging them to see the world through his unique artistic lens.
