Free feeling - Ruth Schleeh
Artist: Ruth Schleeh
Title: Free Feeling (T. 537)
Dimensions: 30 x 30 cm in mount 50 x 50 cm
Materials: Acrylics, wax collage on cardboard
Ruths works are abstract, mostly in large formats, using a mix of materials such as acrylic, wax, sand, bitumen and stone chips.
She likes to layer her paintings, which are partly removed over and over. As a result her works acquire depth, where opposites meet, such as rough and smooth surfaces, light, dark, pasty and translucent, dynamic and calm, harmonious yet discordant. Discontinuous dynamics are sometimes generated by the addition of individual strong color elements, but always also by the varying paint application, which is sometimes wiping, sometimes scratching, sometimes dropshaped. There are highs and lows in life and that is reflected in Ruth’s original works of art.
